Dr. Anand Vadivel

Dr Anand Vadivel has 11 years of experience in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He graduated (MBBS) from P.S.G Medical College Coimbatore, and completed his master degree (M.D.) in General Medicine at Government Madurai Medical College and specialty degree, (D.M.) in Gastroenterology at Government Kilpauk Medical College in Chennai. He underwent clinical training in Aryavart Hospital, Meerut for advanced ERCP / EUS under the mentorship of the legendary Dr Malay Sharma. He also pursued other adjunct degrees like degree of Royal College of Physicians of Edinburg in Gastroenterology (ESEGH) and Postgraduate Course in American College of Gastroenterology. Before moving to UAE, he had worked in the many prestigious institutes such as The Manipal Hospital, Salem, India for 3 years as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Liver Transplant Hepatologist. Prior to joining NMC Specialty Hospital in Dubai he worked at International Modern Hospital for one year and then moved to NMC Royal Hospital, Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. Through the course of his extensive career, Dr Anand Vadivel has performed upper and lower GI endoscopies around 8000 (Both diagnostic and therapeutic) and 600 ERCP. He is an expert in performing Esophageal and Colonic Stenting, Variceal Band Ligation, Ulcer Bleed Management, Glue Injection, PEG Tube Placement Polypectomy, Achalasia Balloon Dilatation, Capsule Endoscopy, 24hour pH metry, Manometry and Endoscopic Ultrasound. Furthermore, as a member of the Liver Transplant team, he has helped 24 Liver transplants (DDLT) in pretransplant assessment and post-transplant care in India. Field of interest: * Interventional Endoscopy and colonoscopy * Functional GI disorders * Liver diseases * Pancreatic and biliary stone treatment * ERCP * PEG tube placement * EUS He has done numerous paper presentations and his articles have been published internationally. His passion for Gastroenterology made him to conduct Endoscopy workshop in India in 2017. He keeps himself abreast with latest by attending various national and international symposiums. He can converse in English, Tamil, Malayalam. He has a working knowledge of Hindi.
