Dr. Ricardo Persaud

Dr. Ricardo is a fully trained British ENT Head , Neck Surgeon with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Otolaryngology, UK (2011). He has received many qualifications including FRCS ORL-HNS (2009), DO-HNS (2003), CBiol Chartered Biologist, Europe (2001), MSB Member of Society of Biology, UK (2001), MRCS (2000), and MPhil University of London, Neuroendocrine Thesis (1994). Dr. Ricardo received 12 distinctions in the British Technical Education Council Higher National Certificate in Science (1990); he was a Graduate Member Institute of Biology, UK (1994) and obtained his MB BS at University College London Medical School (1996). Dr. Ricardo trained at several institutes including Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital, USA, MEEI, Harvard University, Boston, USA, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong, China, and Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, Canada. Dr. Ricardo worked as a Locum ENT Consultant at Princess Royal University Hospital, and Senior Clinical Fellow in Rhinology Facial Plastic Surgery at St. Mary's Hospital, London. He was later appointed as Locum Consultant ENT, Head and Neck surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester. Dr Ricardo has performed over 8000 ENT Head and Neck operations, including myringoplasty, tympanomastoidectomy, grommet insertions, Bat ear correction (pinnaplasty), FESS, endoscopic polypectomy, septorhinoplasties, adenotonsillectomies, microlaryngoscopyies and biopsies, pharyngeal pouch stapling, parotidectomy (using rhytidectomy incision), submandibular gland excision, cervical node sampling, resection of congenital lesions, thyroidectomy, neck dissections and laryngectomy. Dr. Ricardo is a reviewer for multiple journals (e.g. Clinical Otolaryngology, International Journal of Otolaryngology and Case Reports in Pediatrics), and has written over 85 publications including 3 ENT Books, 3 ENT Chapters, Evidence-based Reviews and National Audits on Standards in ENT practice. Dr. Ricardo is on the Editorial Board of Canadian Journal of Hospital Administration (JHA), and the founder and director of ENTTZAR Ltd - a highly successful UK-based postgraduate teaching company (www.enttzar.co.uk), (www.ricardopersaud.com).
